      1. Charles Monroe Minnis, the oldest child of Thomas and Parmela (Warren) Minnis, was born in Blount County, Tennessee, January 28, 1818. He came with his parents to Howard County, Missouri, in 1820, where he grew to young manhood on his father's farm. In 1834 the family located in Carroll County, Missouri. Her Mr. Minnis followed agricultural pursuits, having a large farm in Section twenty-five. He was a member of the County Court for a number of years, a member of the A. F. and A. M., and an influential man in his section of the country. He married first March 12, 1840, Martha A. Caskey, daughter of John and Sarah Caskey. Issue:
      (1) Susan Jane, b. June 5, 1841.
      (2) Sarah Frances, b. Oct. 1842.
      (3) Thomas C., b. _______ 1844.
      (4) James D., b. 1846.
      (5) John W., b. 1848.
      (6) Mary B., b. 1850.
      (7) Nancy E., b. 1852.
      (8) Leonidas, b. 1854.
      (9) Parmela Lovie, b. 1856.
      (10) Eliza Ellen, b. 1858.
      (11) Robert A., b. 1861.
      Mrs. Minnis died June 20, 1862
